GARMIN N-ROUTE GPS:
After we had our Microsoft Streets and Trips with GPS, setup on our laptop, we went to visit some friends in Eastern Connecticut. When we showed them what we had, they wanted some mapping software for their laptop too.
The only store that was close to them was a Staples, and Staples did not have the "Microsoft Streets and Trips with GPS" but they had something else. They bought a Garmin N Route (which is the only thing their Staples had).
We took the software to their house and installed the N Route on their laptop. We didn't realize that the software had a "voice." Garmin N RouteThe next day when we left, they took their laptop in their car and opened the NRoute software. The voice is computer generated, of course, and it would say, "Turn north, Turn South" etc. Well, our friends were delighted with their choice in GPS software for their laptop. They just had to mark the address where they began to drive, and mark the place where they were traveling to. The voice software did the rest, telling them which way to turn. So they could even place the laptop in the backseat if they wanted too.
Our friend said that he also likes to travel the backroads in the state, and when he is by himself traveling, he doesn't need to park and look at the laptop to see where he is.
